Welcome to the Emerging Channels Recruitment Site!

[We are changing our name - from Emerging Channels to Open Outsource - so you will see both names at the moment while the domains and edits are being made - the address of this site will eventually be recruitment.open-outsource.com]

This is the place to find out about any of the roles being advertised and how to apply for any of them. The process described here is the one place where you can make yourself known to us and ideally be chosen to be part of a special team.

The roles available right now are always kept up to date on our Current Roles page. See if there is anything there you might be interested in.

Thank you for your interest in joining our team, we are constantly looking for new applicants and hope you are successful in yours. If you are one who believes in quality and striving to learn to be the best, then we are interested in you.

We offer interesting roles that emphasize collaboration and teamwork. You will not be working in isolation here, you become part of a team of people spread all over the globe that have similar aspirations to you and are there for your mutual support. You quickly learn that there is so much to gain by sharing work and learning from others.

The Best Team on the Internet!

We also believe we have the best team on the Internet! This as a principle, not necessarily a proven fact, is a great aim to work toward and we try to keep improving towards it every day.

What is Emerging Channels?

Emerging Channels is a service to its clients for interacting with their audience through many of the new and existing channels. It is strictly based on the idea of a team who are all equals within the process they are creating, a team that collaborates towards both self-development and providing the best quality to the client as well as working towards their highest ideals.

Joining In - Next Steps

If you wish to join in, then please give us some background about you on our Prospective Candidate Form
You will then receive a response from the email address recruitment@emergingchannels.com on what to do next. If you have any questions in the meantime, then feel free to email to that address, but for speedy response please use a subject like "Writer Post - YourName" with your full name details in YourName and we will get back to you.

When we look at the responses in the Prospective Candidate sheet we will write to you and offer you a test. At the moment, these tests are paid for, however at the lower rate of $5 per 1000 words, as long as the work is a reasonable effort. The test will have a time limit of 12 hours, so you must be able to complete it within that time. Once you let us know what time you are able to take the test then you will be shown access to the system and the sheet that contains the notes for what you are going to write about. You will (if using Skype) be added to a shared group to help you settle in. This is where you may ask any questions that you may have.

Once you have completed the test it will go off to be examined, which should take place within 24 hours, maybe longer if done over a weekend. If the completed work is a good effort to comply to the instructions then it will be paid within the current pay cycle, at the moment this is every two weeks. If the work is a good standard then you will be placed at the regular rate of $10 per 1000 words and offered a place within Emerging Channels. If the work is good but not meeting the expected level of research or grammar then you will be offered a standby position. In a standby position you will be able to see a lot of what is going on and join in but will only get offered jobs at $5 per 1000 words occasionally to keep testing you for a higher level. If there are a number of people who are keen with working within Emerging Channels that are on the lower rate and enough editors are available to give developmental advice then we will open up lower levels to advertising to bring in more work. The other levels of $10 and above available on when competence is proven.
